PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF GASTRONOMIC TOURISM IN GEORGIA (TAKING INTO ACCOUNT FOREIGN EXPERIENCE)

Summary 

For more than a year, the Georgian economy, like the world economies, has become a hostage of medicine, which is why the country's economic sectors have been locked up. Among these sectors is the tourism sector, which has suffered the biggest blow since the first day of the pandemic. The paper is dedicated to one of the current problems of the economy, such as the development of mechanisms for overcoming and managing the problems caused by the pandemic in the field of tourism, where the most correct way is to activate domestic tourism and create safe tourist zones and promoting the development of gastronomic tourism as one of the main tourism priorities. The favorable condition for this is to work out proper strategic plan of active research and development of regions in gastronomic aspect. The paper examines the general economic aspects and perspectives of the development of gastronomic tourism in the country, taking into account the experience of foreign countries, as well as ways to solve them.
